Paloma Renteria

Paloma founded Maxima Advisors to do one thing carefully: find the company a plain .com name was always going to belong to, and hand it over without fuss.

Her work over roughly six years has been in digital branding and in building and placing .com portfolios. The companies she contacts are mostly hospitality and real-estate operators, import and distribution firms, and consumer brands selling in the US and across Latin America.

Her habit is to start from the customer's side. Before she writes to a company about a name, she asks what its guests or buyers would type if they had only heard of it once, and where that address takes them today. If the answer is a competitor, a parked page or nothing at all, the note is worth sending. If it is already the company's own site, she does not write.

How she works

In practice

Short notes, one figure, no pressure

A first note from Paloma is a few lines long, names one address, and ends with a question you can answer in a word. If the answer is no, that is the end of it. If it is yes, you deal with her until the name is in your account; nobody else picks up the thread halfway.

Maxima Advisors is a one-person practice. There is no sales team behind the email, and no list of names shared with other firms.

Brickell, Miami

On Brickell Avenue, south of the river

The office is in the 1221 Brickell building, in the financial district just south of the Miami River. The towers along the avenue house banks and consulates with close ties to Latin America, so a conversation about selling in two languages and several countries is an ordinary one here.

Meetings are by appointment; mention it in your message and Paloma will suggest a time.

The name

Maxima

Where the name comes from

Máxima is Spanish for "greatest", a word that reads the same in English and Spanish, which suited a practice working on both sides. It is a name, not a claim. Maxima Advisors is an independent domain practice in Miami, unrelated to other businesses that happen to use the word Maxima.
